For those of you who have signed up to be a coach, you need to do the following to be ready:
1 Register as an AYSO volunteer (an annual requirement) at www.eAYSO.org.
2 Take AYSO Safe Haven and concussion awareness training for Coaches (a one-time requirement).
3 Attend the Coaches Meeting in early June.
4 Division Specific Coach Training and Certification is a two part program: coaches need to attend an in-class and an on-fieldsession for the level they are coaching in order to be certified.
5 If you are volunteering to be a Head Coach and you want someone special to be your assistant, please see the FAQ question on how to do this.
All returning coaches must go through the following three steps in order to coach again this season in our region.
STEP 1: Re-Register as a volunteer in the National AYSO database through eAYSO.
• Please visit the www.eayso.org website to register as a volunteer/coach for this season.
STEP 2: If you are not yet trained and certified to the level of team that you are coaching, register for the Coach Training and Certification program you plan to attend.
2.1. REVIEW the local training options for Divisions U-6 through U-12 on the Coach Training Calendar. Intermediate and Advanced Coach Training are done out of Region (see below).
2.2. Register for a class on the EAYSO website. Log in using your email address and password.
2.3. Click on "Enroll to take a class" in the lower right of the screen.
2.4. Find the course you are looking for BY LEVEL, DATES, AREA . . . (Hillsborough is Area 2N, Region 110). Be sure to read the Comments box on the right for details on where the course will be held, the times, and additional important information.
2.5. Click on the course you want and on the "Course sign-up" button at the bottom.
2.6. Your AYSO volunteer information will appear. Click on "Add Attendee to Program Roster" and you are officially registered for the class.
If your are signing up for Intermediate Coach or Advanced Coach training, or if you are unable to take the training offered by Region 110, you can go to your Home EAYSO screen and find out-of-region classes for which you can register the same way. Coaches can take the Coach Training and Certification programs in any region, but it is highly recommended that you attend Region 110 training if possible. For more details on how to register and complete the Coach Training and Certification programs, please click on this link, or contact the Coach Administrator at CoachAdministrator@HillsboroughAYSO.org.
STEP 3: Attend your classes.
Attend the Class you signed up for, and a corresponding Field Training (separate dates). A record of your attendance will be entered into the AYSO national database and you will be certified upon completion of the program. Remember: there are both class and field components to these programs, to get certified you need to attend both."
